This huge area with its long, undulating, switchback-like trails is perfect for boarders. With two snowboard parks, a half pipe and the regular snow-falls to ensure that powder-heads are well catered for, Winter Park is a good option for snowboarders.

Itâ€™s been the localsâ€™ favourite resort for some time now but, each year, more people discover the secret of Winter Park for their ski holiday.

Located at 2743m, close to the continental divide, may in part explain its exceptional snow record. The Ski area is immense and has more than enough skiing for every ability level. There are four separate areas linked by an efficient lift system, giving access to nearly 100km of slopes. There are many long runs and thereâ€™s something for everyone - from gentle greens for novice skiers to double-black diamond runs that make experts re-consider their assessment!

A friendly, informal, unpretentious atmosphere pervades the town, located 2.3km from the ski area, and a selection of shops, bars and restaurants offer good quality and service at reasonable prices.

Beginners
It would be difficult to imagine a more perfect area to take those first tentative steps on skis than Discovery Park located on Winter Park Mountain. The park is cordoned off from the rest of the area and encompasses a nursery area plus gentle beginner runs served by three lifts.

Intermediates
Intermediates are spoiled for choice with a seemingly endless supply of long greens, blues and blacks from which to choose.

Advanced
Mary Jane draws expert skiers like a magnet to her steep mogul fields and even steeper chutes. There is more than enough terrain here to hold the attention of even the most accomplished skiers. Try the testing Berthoud Pass - and enjoy!
