The Krippenstein offers a paradise for all levels of Off-Piste Skiers and at over 2000m, provides snow sure skiing throughout the season. Krippenstein Park is located just off the chairlift. Its unique design provides various features for freeskiers and snowboarders of all abilities. The Park features include several small rollers as well as a beginner rail to improve your park skills. Rainbow rail, straight rail – 3 and 6 m long – kinked rail and curved rainbow rail will kick off the experts amongst you. Kickers and hips (corner) with tables 5- 15 m long complement the park features which perfectly blend into the unique Krippenstein terrain. The single lift-pass also includes the Dachstein West Ski Region which is perfect for those more at home on the groomed piste. With 140 km of intermediate piste to explore it’s a perfect weekend destination. With the two distinct snowboard areas it’s ideal for mixed ability groups. Both of these areas are easily accessible from the village of Obertraun. Don’t take our word for it, this is what the Grix Family thought after visiting in January – “You were right, the skiing facilities at Krippenstein were pitched just right for our mixed group of seven novice / intermediate skiers.” The local lift operators are making an offer this year during the quieter periods during the ski season, to provide an extra days ski-pass FREE. During pre-Xmas, January and March enjoy 1 days ski-pass extra FREE when you book 3 nights or more.

Enjoy "this undiscovered treasure of Austria" with 140kms of uncrowded pistes provided by the Dachstein West Ski region. The more adventurous can try the Krippenstein Freeride Arena offering a 'Big Mountain experience'.

Accommodation is provided by the Obertrauner Hof, with 12 spacious, comfortably furnished, en-suite bedrooms many with balconies opening out onto panoramic views of the Dachstein Massif, 6 rooms are suitable for families. The Gasthof provides a relaxed, welcoming feel, ensuring you enjoy your stay in this stunning region.

The Obertrauner Hof is situated at the heart of the tranquil village of Obertraun. All of the local amenities; shop, bank, restaurants/bars are within easy reach.
