Our unique Craigieburn Adventure explores the legendary club fields of Canterbury. These ski areas are located in a quiet, picturesque valley with terrain ranging from easy and gentle, to serious and steep. The Canterbury club fields are still relatively unknown and therefore feature a distinct lack of crowds and lift queues.

Itinerary / Highlights

Our Craigieburn liftpass is valid at Porters, Mount Cheeseman, Broken River, Temple Basin, Mount Olympus and the legendary Craigieburn Valley. This versatility allows us to take you straight to where the snow conditions are best. Most of these skifields are off the main tourist route, which means there's no waiting in long lift queues all day. It also means that if it snows at the beginning of your trip then we could be riding freshies all week!

We will have five days on snow throughout with week (weather dependent) with the decision on which mountain to ride made daily. Based on the groups abilities and wants, and current snow conditions and weather forecast, guests will have the opportunity to discover and explore an exciting range of terrain throughout the week. There is an extra day included in the week which allows for a bad weather day if the lifts are closed, or a spare day for relaxing in front of the fire with a book, checking out the local rock formations, or simply getting to know your fellow snow lovers better!

Clients travel comfortably in our Toyota Super Custom Hiace 4WD vehicles which are well equpped for mountain driving. Your guide is a commercially licensed driver and experienced in handling the winter road conditions. All of our guides are experienced snow enthusiasts with years of specific snow employment and a high level of knowledge of the local region and snow conditions.To ensure personal attention and maximise the unique experience, we limit the spaces available to only six clients per vehicle.

Accommodation Details

Tucked away in the Craigieburn Valley, our beautiful mountain lodge will keep you toasty and warm after a day on the snow with a big log fire and underfloor heating.

Situated on the main scenic route from Christchurch to the West Coast, our stunning Craigieburn accommodation is located in Castle Hill Village - less than a 30 minute drive to four of the six Craigieburn Ski areas. This is our own private lodge and is available exclusively to the clients on the trip. The open plan living area is comfortable and very spacious for the needs of our small group. It features a large lounge with a cathedral ceiling, a log fire, and a modern kitchen for guests to prepare their own meals. All bedrooms feature twin share accommodation in comfortable new beds, and with two and a half bathrooms there will be no long waits for a hot shower at the end of the day!

Despite its close proximity to Christchurch, Castle Hill Village feels very remote. It is surrounded by stunning, majestic, scenery which was used in the filming of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. There are no shops or facilities in the village itself so all supplies need to be bought in Christchurch before setting out for the lodge. There is a popular pub located in Springfield about 20 minutes drive away which we usually visit at least once during the week for a hearty feed.
