It started with a desire to share the awesome mountain biking in New Zealand with others. These are trails that swoop and dive through majestic forests, volcanoes, and sparkling rivers inspiring wide grins on riders faces.

We started with a Central North Island Tour, all of the above plus great accommodation, a van to transport between locations and most of all fantastic guides.

Great companies are made of special people and at Southstar Adventures these people are the ones guiding you on your tour. A 3 day tour is based from your choice of Rotorua accommodation, we pick up a coffee at Zippy's Cafe then head into the Whakarewarewa Forest to ride what some call the best trails in the world. That's a big call, but these trails are really sweet, built by mountain biking trail builders over the last 10 years, each one is a slice of riding paradise. After 3 or 4 hours of riding each day there are plenty of opportunities to relax in Rotorua's world famous geothermal hotpools, or to visit other attractions in the area such as the gondola & luge, white water rafting on the Kaituna river, Maori cultural shows, hotpools boiling mud & geysersetc. If you wish you can make use of Southstar's exclusive shuttle service that takes you the top of Tawa Rd, the highest point in the Whaka forest, from where you can take your pick of trails.
