Positively Wellington Tourism
Once upon a time in November 1997 a regional tourism organisation for Wellington was born. In the past decade, Positively Wellington Tourism (PWT) has overseen a growth of over 60% in commercial guest nights in the best little capital in the world. Tourism now accounts for about 10% of Wellington’s regional domestic product.

We position Wellington as New Zealand’s ultimate urban destination; our capital of cool if you will. We didn’t make that up because we’re snazzy marketing types. It’s true. People other than us say so all the time. In fact Lonely Planet Best in Travel 2011 says Wellington is the coolest little capital in the world.
