Snowboarding Beginners Mountain Immersion
Learning to snowboard as an adult is not the same as a kid. As a kid, you are generally sent to ski school... but adults sometimes prefer something more civilised!
We have designed a special week that goes well beyond physical dimensions! You WILL learn to snowboard. We hire the best private instructor to take you to your potential. You will spend 2 hours the first 3 mornings of your trip learning the basics correctly. In the afternoon you will practice, practice, and practice. You can stay where you feel safe or venture to more challenging runs!
Generally the group sticks together for moral support.
Snowboarding should be no different from yoga.. you try to harmonise mind, body and spirit!

Itinerary
& Highlights |

On day 4, weather permitting, you will need a break to allow what you have learned to sink in. Agniezka will take you on a journey away from the crowds, on snow shoes into the back-country. You will learn how to stay safe in winter conditions, dig snow holes to see the layers and condition of the snow and build an igloo.
We can give you a bivvy bag, sleeping bag, dinner and a stove if you want to spend the night in it!
Day 5, we head up to the Col du Joue Plane to try another winter sport. Ski de Fond is really popular in Canada, Alaska and Northern Europe. It is a full body work out that will tune your buttocks as you glide past Mont Blanc!
On day 6, you can choose what you would like to do. We guarantee your snowboarding will be better after a break or you could relax at La Source and have a Shiatsu massage... or try ice-climbing!
Should I learn to ski or snowboard?
Well skiing is more gentle to learn and less painful, but it takes longer to become accomplished.
Snowboarding is tougher on the body for at least the first week, except for the knees. You get good quite quickly if you can let go of the mental challenge of having your feet strapped to 1 board.
We need 4 skiers or 4 snow boarders to run the beginners course. |

La Source is a very funky 5* eco-chalet.
'The best eco-lodge in the Alps', Sunday Times
'One of the finest Chalets in the Alps', The Saturday Guardian
It is 5 minutes above Samoens village 1 hour from Geneva airport on the Edge of one of France's most spectacular Nature Reserve's.
La Source has 7 bedrooms, a wood fired hot tub and massive communal living area, library, TV/music den, sports room, bike washing facility, etc.
There is a big garden with a big chill out BBQ deck and wood fired hot tub. The neighbours cows come through the garden!
Food is sourced from local organic farms.
We have 12 beds in 5 bedrooms and a mezzanine. There is 1 single room, 3 doubles (or twins), 1 triple and a twin mezzanine. The rooms are all very different. Some are en suite and some share a bathroom. The beds are selected on a first come, first serve basis sort of like Easyjet. If you book early, you can get the single room at no extra cost. If you book late, the Mezzanine may be the only room available.
We encourage our single guests to share as it all adds to the sense of community and often good friends are made. You will only share with someone of the same gender. If you would rather not share, there is a charge of E350 per empty bed. |
